For the last few weeks, we noticed our bird feeder (actually we changed it to a squirrel feeder to keep them away from the bird feeders which was working quite well) was being raided overnight. I knew squirrels were not out at night, so one night when I was up late, I thought I heard a noise out back and quickly turned on the flood light. There he was caught red handed, a raccoon. He was on his hind legs and using his hands to pull the feeder down to his feeding level.
He just froze in the light, didn't even try to run, and then simply kept eating! Guess I was not about to interrupt his midnight buffet. I was quite surprised that they liked sunflower seeds in the shell. He wasn't shelling them he was eating them whole.
We fill them in the morning now, and let them run out by night. He is not getting quite the fill he was, so has since left. But I tried to capture him in my little watercolor.
I painted him on a 7 x 10 inch watercolor paper using a dip pen and permanent black ink and then a wash of watercolor. I have signed and dated this little painting. He will be mounted behind a white mat board ready for your 8 x 10 inch frame.
As with all my paintings, shipping is included in the price if shipped within USA and Canada.
